[edit] Merger proposal

AKleinberg (talk · contribs) has suggested this article be merged with Strawberry Mountain Wilderness. I kind of follow the reasoning: a lot of the same geography and features are in common, and they serve similar purposes: recreation, wildlife, etc. On the other hand, it would be silly to combine Mount Hood with Mount Hood Wilderness because those articles are focused on different aspects of the mountain. Presumably, future work on these articles (Strawberry Mountain & Wilderness) would help distinguish them in the same way. It seems I'm mildly opposed to a merger. —EncMstr 03:21, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

  • Mild oppose Per EncMstr. For categorization purposes, if nothing else, I'd like to see the articles stay separate, but wouldn't stop anyone with a stronger opinion. I'd like to see the nominator's rationale for the merger. Note that there's nothing inherently wrong with geographic stubs and that geographic features like mountains are almost always considered notable. Also, if anything were to be merged, I think it makes more sense to merge Strawberry Mountain (Oregon) with Strawberry Mountains. Katr67 (talk) 18:59, 1 February 2008 (UTC)
I see your point. I was thinking that two articles covering the same area should be merged, but after seeing other articles, I'll take the merger proposal off. AKleinberg (talk) 23:27, 2 February 2008 (UTC)
