[edit] Origin of name

Gregorydavid, I'd really like to know where you get your information. I have never heard anyone claim Stellenbosch was also named after van der stel's wife (who is called Johanna Jacoba Six). --Janto 14:59, 24 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Content on Stellenbosch

Hi Janto, Yes, I went back and contributed the info I found on Johanna Jacoba Six and I see you are passionate about Stellenbosch. If so then I am sure you will agree that some of the sections need to be re-written to improve overall result.. Regards Gregorydavid 09:00, 25 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Removing biased content

Today I removed this content: "Until recently the wealthy wine growing nature of the area meant that it had a large Gini coefficient, although this is changing."

While there may be some truth in the statement I hav enot seen any data to back up the claim. Also I think Stellenbosch has been unfairly singled out as the only town on Wikipedia that is linked directly to the Gini coefficient article. All sorts of means were resorted to by other wine farmers to compete with cape wines. Gregorydavid 08:06, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
