[edit] Summary
User:Sue Wallace scanned this promotional image from the biographical book Steve Marriott - All Too Beautiful... by Paolo Hewitt and John Hellier (first published in the U.K. in 2004). It is a low resolution black and white photographic image of Steve Marriott (of bands Small Faces and Humble Pie) and his wife Jenny Marriott taken in 1968 at their home Beehive Cottage in Moreton, Essex. The original photographic image has been previously published and is believed to be owned (or created by) Ted Tyler.

[edit] Non-free fair use rationale for article Steve Marriott
Though this image is subject to copyright, I, User:Sue Wallace believe its use is covered by the U.S. fair use laws for the article mentioned above because:
- Article: Steve Marriott
- Description: A scanned black and white publicity/promotional photograph taken (or owned) by Ted Tyler in 1968 of former Small Faces, Humble Pie frontman Steve Marriott (now deceased) and wife Jenny Rylance.
- Source: Derived from a scan (by me) in biographical book Steve Marriott - All Too Beautiful... (The creator of this digital version is irrelevant as the copyright in all equivalent images is still held by the same party). Copyright is held by the photographer Ted Tyler. Claimed as fair use regardless.
- Portion: Entire image
- Resolution: Low resolution. There is only as much resolution as absolutely necessary to identify the subject matter of the image which is used for the article, not enough to be used for illegal purposes such as piracy.
- Purpose: This image is being used for the historical identification and critical anaylsis in order to further the readers knowledge of a notable deceased public figure who is the subject of an article in Wikipedia (written for information purposes). The image is used specifically in the article describing Steve Marriott's life including his marriage.
- Replaceability: No free image is available of Steve Marriott. No free image is likely to become available in the future as the subject is deceased (since 1991).
- Other_information: Image in this form is already widely distributed to identify the subject Steve Marriott as part of book reviews, catalogs and music reviews, so I do not degrade the market value of the image by providing it here for educational purposes. It is believed that the use of this image on Wikipedia does not undermine the potential market for the sale or licensing of this image. *Inclusion of the image here is not meant to imply or assert copyright ownership.
