Talk:Static interpretation of time

Determinism:
The Static Interpretation is sometimes thought of as a logical consequence of determinism - but determinism actually includes the notion of an unfolding existence in which the 'past' is given a precedence. However, in the static view, our 'past' has no precedence in terms of existing first.
I've given Weil's quote since it is the most discussed and perhaps poetic expression of the static view - but its a little misleading in that he later abandoned the view (his book is not the only one for which the complaint has been made that the author changes his mind back and forth between the two covers). And anyone with an interest in the static view who chases up the quote to read it's context in Philosophy of Mathematics and Natural Science may be disappointed. That quote is essentially it.
