It's difficult to find verifiable sources that set out to do anything other than sell the shoe. Such sources I've seen state that the shoe was originally dedicated to Robert Haillet, and they have since gone on to sell over 30 million pairs. Hi there. I'm cool if you want to have links like U.S. repeated seventy times or so since there is an exception to the overlinking guideline for tables. I do think that the bare year links (e.g. 1971) don't provide any context at all. I think a better idea would be to link to either "<year> in sports" or "Category:<year> in tennis" with a pipe link to make just the year appear (e.g. 1971 or 1971).
