There seems to be a difference of opinion regarding his date of birth; some sources give it as 27 February 1933 and others as 27 February 1934.

1933 is the date given by www.englandfc.com, www.englandfootballonline.com and www.englandstats.com; this is the date currently in the article.

1934 is the date given by his Sunderland career history, his Newcastle career history, and by Betts in his "England - player by player" (Graham Betts (2006). England: Player by player. Green Umbrella Publishing, p.80. ISBN 1-905009-63-1. ) Also by www.allfootballers.com.

As all these sources are normally reliable, I have left the date as 1933, unless someone knows for definite which is correct. Daemonic Kangaroo (talk) 07:56, 30 March 2008 (UTC)
