[edit] Stamina

Why does looking up stamina redirect me here? http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/stamina

stamina From Wiktionary Jump to: navigation, search [edit] noun the energy and strength for continuing to do something over a long period of time.

Near as I can tell, it does not. What are you talking about? - Marshman 04:53, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
Stamina redirects to "stamen", being the old-style plural. Should probably be made into a dab. (Note that "what links here" is misleading.) Stan 16:56, 26 January 2006 (UTC)
I reverted Stamina back to a redirect to Endurance because, by far, most English speakers understand the word to refer to that concept rather than to the plural of stamen, which most have probably never heard of.--NeantHumain 03:47, 28 January 2006 (UTC)
It's better to disambiguate. (This way the reader may learn something: it's not the purpose of an encyclopedia merely to reflect the reader's expectations!) Gdr 11:03, 31 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Merge

Proposing we merge androecium into this article - it's just the totality of stamina is it not? No need for a separate article. Richard001 04:21, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

The androecium is the totality of stamens, yes. It seems a bit absurd to have distinct articles on each, merge away, in my opinion. KP Botany 19:38, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

There doesn't seem to be anything to merge now that I look at it, and it's already in boldface here. There are pictures as well, but again we are pretty full of those here, so I'll just redirect it and tag it as R from merge. Need to deal with gynoecium as well though, which is basically the same situation. Richard001 08:07, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wording

The intro says "an anther ... pollen sacs". That makes no sense. Corvus cornix 01:27, 26 September 2007 (UTC)
