State Radio is a rock band from Boston, MA, consisting of Chad Urmston (Chetro) - guitar & lead vocals, Chuck Fay - bass guitar & vocals, and Mike Najarian (Mad Dog)- drums.

State Radio's songs, written by Chad, are a mixture of roots reggae and rock interspersed with more somber, low-key numbers. The band is known for its outstanding stage presence and frequent encouragement of audience participation. State Radio "road tests" their music, playing new songs on tour (often long) before recording a final version.

The band's first full-length album, Us Against the Crown, was released on February 7, 2006, and their second, "Year of the Crow", was released September 2007.

[edit] State Radio Messageboard

The Official State Radio Forum, Red Letter Tribe, is a very close-knit, but lovingly open, community that is known for being absurdly knowledgeable about the band and often going off topic in threads. It is moderated by Newo and Red. Any state radio questions can usually be answered very quickly with a post on RLT. Late 2007 showed an influx of new members in conjunction with the September release of Year of the Crow.
