The club was founded in 2006 by president Fabio D'Arco, and vice-president Gianclaudio Romeo.
Currently, the club takes part in Seria C of the Italian championship.

The supporters of Stabia have been quick to form links with other clubs, notably, London Wasps, a Premiership team in England.
Mutual visits have been arranged the between supporters of the two sides, both for London Wasps supporters in Italy[1] and Stabia Wasps supporters in England.[2]
