As a regular uploader of photos I am aware of the sensitivity around this but I feel this somewhat over-exposed photo detracts from the rather good photo below it. I'll leave the deleted photo here so that if anyone disagrees they can restore it.

As the person who took this photograph and as it is an exact representation of what our Cathedral looks like on the Sunny Sunday morning I am not happy you removed it. (Comment by Anon 78.16.27.208).

I know exactly how you feel; none of us ever like to see one of our own removed. Would you go so far as the agree that it isn't as good as the other one of the church? (Sarah777 00:23, 9 October 2007 (UTC))

Hmmm. I see you popped your image right back into poll position, so let's get down to brass tacks:
  • There were already a number of images on the page; including one pretty good one.
  • Had there been no other image in the article it would have been perfectly acceptable until a better one was found.
  • Your image is overexposed and not up to the technical quality standard we should expect at Wiki, which isn't a "dumping ground" for snapshots.
  • You may be annoyed at me for removing your image but hardly as annoyed as the chap who took the other picture which adorned the article for years till you plonked your dazzler on top of it.
  • There is no need for two images of the exterior in one small article, yet you not only insist on leaving it but putting it in a dominant position, displacing a long-standing better image of the same subject matter.
  • None of the images involved here are mine; if that was my pic you displaced I'd really get cross.

Regards (Sarah777 08:05, 9 October 2007 (UTC))

As the person who wrote most of the article in question I find your comments offensive. You can check that out from the editing lists. As for it being a snap shot that is over exposed I also find that offensive and your own opinion. So Sarah I would appreciate if you did not remove what I kindly provided to give a proper representation of our Cathedral. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.16.97.251 (talk) 00:34, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

Perhaps you should read WP:OWN; I have written hundreds of articles and put up over a thousand pics and it took me a while to get used to the idea that my articles aren't actually mine. Photos are removed or made smaller or put in galleries (which I hate) all the time. Text gets changed, added to, challenged - all the time. We could put this up for discussion somewhere if you really think this tiny article merits two pictures of the Church when one is of poor quality and one is rather good (in my opinion). If you feel I'm being unreasonable I suggest you tell that to User talk:John or User talk:Rockpocket (they are Administrators on Wiki) - if they say your photo should stay I'll agree. Regards and no offence meant - we all have different opinions in matters of taste. Sarah777 (talk) 01:10, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

This article is not simply about a Church it is about a Cathedral and one of the most important medieval buildings in Ireland. This is not my view, but that of the academic experts in the area. The article needs to be expanded on and I had hoped to do my bit to do just that in the near future. I am very well aware of the the fact anything I put up on Wikipedia can be edited I don't mind that. While I wrote a large part of the current article I never claimed it as all my work. I am very familiar and support the concepts on which Wikipedia operates. What I object to is your uncalled for and rude comments which you made about my photograph. As for your opinion I have to say I don't think much of it. I don't intend wasting my time discussing the matter further with you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.16.65.176 (talk) 20:27, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
