Talk:SR388

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Should this article really be here? Do you often see Metroid planets in encyclopedias?

Do you often see articles on All your base are belong to us in encyclopedias? What about You have two cows? What about videogame series, period? The Wikipedia has plenty of odd entires; a planet from the Metroid series seems like it would be okay to me. --Sparky the Seventh Chaos 19:20, Aug 27, 2004 (UTC)
I agree. If you're going to have Metroid in wikipedia you really should have this here. Ebelular 21:52, 27 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Um... you know, the planet is just SR388. Not SR-388. I didn't check yet, but if that article isn't already written, it really should be. You know, for the people that DO know how to spell it correctly. :P But this should stay up for the copious ones that don't...

I thought the hyphen looked strange. However, I can't remember if it was SR388, no space, or SR 388, with a space. At any rate, the page can and probably should be moved. Myabe I'll try and scrounge up some research and figure out if it's mostly written with a space or without. --Sparky the Seventh Chaos 15:02, Nov 19, 2004 (UTC)
I guarentee that it's SR388. I just checked Fusion's manual.--Dazuro
Okie-dokie. Page moved, now going to correct things in the article itself. ^_^ --Sparky the Seventh Chaos 18:19, Nov 20, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Creatures

The Creatures link needs to be dewikified, or somehow changed, because it's reffering to something unrelated to what was probably intended.

Done, or sort of. Hmm. Does anyone think perhaps we should just link to 'animal' instead, or to nothing at all? --Sparky the Seventh Chaos 19:59, Aug 27, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Removal of paragraph

"With the demise of the Metroid species, the X could have easily taken over the planet and infested it like a disease."

... Which is exactly what happened. With the Metroids' absence (after Samus eradicated the species in Metroid II), the X have in fact overrun the planet's eco system, as that entire paragraph says should've happened. In the start of Metroid Fusion, Samus goes down to SR388 and gets infested with an X parasite - the entire BSL research station (the unnamed station in orbit around SR388) subsequently gets invaded by X. This whole paragraph should be removed, as the continuity hole it describes is rendered false already in the introduction movie of Metroid Fusion. --Spug 01:34, 17 Dec 2004 (UTC)

I think the point the paragraph is trying to make is less that the X took over SR388 with the Metroids gone, but that they weren't even present in Metroid II. I don't think it should be removed, but, yes, it needs some hefty cleanup. I'll start by rephrasing that last sentence. --Sparky the Seventh Chaos 02:06, Dec 17, 2004 (UTC)
...or, maybe I'll just take a stab at rewriting the whole thing. How's this? --Sparky the Seventh Chaos 02:12, Dec 17, 2004 (UTC)
That's an idea as well ;) It looks very good, great going. I'm not sure if the fact that no X are seen throughout Metroid II is a continuity problem, but it might be. At any rate, kudos. --Spug 02:43, 17 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Thanks much. ^_^ --Sparky the Seventh Chaos 06:31, Dec 17, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Screenshots

It is requested that a screenshot or screenshots be included in this article to improve its quality.

In my opinion, only a screenshot of the whole planet and one of the inside of the Overworld caverns to replace the current one is needed at this point --De Zeurkous (zeurkous@zeurcomp.nichten.info), Thursday February 8 17:03 UTC 2007
