"Spotlight" is a R&B song written by Ne-Yo, who also co-produced it along with the Norwegian production duo, Stargate, for Jennifer Hudson's first studio album. Some other artists contributing to this album include Timbaland, Robin Thicke, The Underdogs, Diane Warren and Tricky Stewart.

“I think people will be pleasantly surprised, because it shows a side of my work that no one has heard before”, Hudson says of the new album.

The song is the first single from Hudson's self-titled debut album, to be released September 30, 2008.[1] She has asked Alicia Keys and India.Arie to become her mentors. The song is currently number 51 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Chart.

The song will be released to iTunes on June 10, 2008.
