Sports information director

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A sports information director is a type of public relations worker who provides statistics and other information about a college or university's sports teams to the news media.[1]

SIDs often prepare "game notes" to be provided to sportswriters before the games. For example, if someone is on the verge of breaking a school record, the game notes would likely include the record, the current holder, and how close the present-day player is to breaking it.

This title is often aqcuired through a University and is very valuable to that program.
