Talk:Spiced beer
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Would the oysters used in Oyster Stout be a "spice"? What about chocolate in chocolate stout? Naerhu 05:43, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
- Oysters? Yuck! While definitely falling under the heading of "adjunct", the term spiced beer is pretty specific to, well, spices. By that definition neither chocolate nor oysters would apply. – ClockworkSoul 06:23, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Spiced Beer as a Style
Since this is being presented under the beer styles catagory, I tried to reword this so as make it clear that not all beers that contain spices are really "spiced beer" by style. Since it's so vague, it's really hard to pin this style down. Hopefully, I've cleared things up a bit.Frank 20:39, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Commercial Examples
I just added a few from the top of my head that seemed to be major commercial examples. Really, all I have is American micros (and one Japanese) so it'd be nice if someone filled in some examples from elsewhere.Frank 20:59, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
