Spinning Into Butter is a 2007 film, directed by Mark Brokaw as his first film. The film is also based on the Rebecca Gilman play titled Spinning Into Butter. The film opened at the Cannes Film Festival in France on May 17, 2007. Gilman herself is one of the writers of the film. Sarah Jessica Parker stars in the film as well as producing it.

When a New England college experiences a hate crime on the campus, the school's dean (Parker) must maintain the correct policies, but at the same time questions her own feelings about race and prejudice.
