[edit] Thanks
You asked: "Thank you for the archive. I will do anything necessary in return for you if you want anything at all. Oh, can administors be blocked?"
- Administrators certainly can be blocked, yes. Really, being an administrator just means it's easier to revert vandalism and gives you the possibility to block other people. --Yamla 15:31, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] French
I am just wondering, but do you speak French? All people I know in Canada speak French. I would just like to know because it's easier for me to speak my Mother tongue. --Sylvia 01:15, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Français
Bonjour Pat! Il si bon pour trouver un autre Wikipedian qui parle français. j'ai juste voulu m'arrêter près parce que je suis dans le grand besoin de parler français avec quelqu'un autre que ma famille! --Sylvia 01:31, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] French
You said: "I am just wondering, but do you speak French? All people I know in Canada speak French. I would just like to know because it's easier for me to speak my Mother tongue."
- Nope, sorry, I don't. I wasn't born in Canada. :) --Yamla 03:05, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
-
- I said: I could teach you, but it'd be hard to do the pronounciations. Where were you born? --Sylvia 18:23, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
-
-
- I was born in England and still only hold British (not Canadian) citizenship. I wish I could speak more languages but I find French very difficult. Too many vowels. If I was to learn another language, it would probably be German. --Yamla 19:23, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your privacy
I see you have added a picture of yourself to your user page. That's great, it looks like you picked the right license. I am just warning you that you need to be careful about adding identifying information to your user page. There are a lot of nasty people on the Internet, many of whom would lie and claim to be about your age. As a general policy, I would suggest that you show your user page to your parents and check with them to make sure everything is good. That said, you are old enough to have a decent understanding of this sort of thing. Wikipedia is really only concerned when younger people do this, not someone of your age. Nevertheless, it is still a good idea. --Yamla 19:28, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
- One other thing. If I remember correctly, your father is already online (and probably monitors your page). It might be a good idea to link to his user page from your user page. Just a suggestion and you are free to ignore it. --Yamla 19:31, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] My Father
You said: "Huh? My father is at work! Who claims to be my dad? I'll delete some stuff. Thanks."
- Oh, I just thought your father had an account on the Wikipedia. My apologies if he doesn't and if my comments confused you. Also, I hope you understand that I'm not saying you are doing anything wrong! It's just that you had more identifying information than I do on my user page. :) --Yamla 19:47, 28 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Retour sur l'appel

[edit] Current warnings
Please do not remove current warnings from this page. Thanks. --Yamla 19:58, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- That was not a pun. You are not to remove current warnings from this page (particularly when you are complaining about being autoblocked due to other abusive behaviour originating from your shared IP). --Yamla 01:19, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Again
Again, I get blocked and I don't even know what I'm doing wrong. I can't create an account and I'm blocked for a month for nothing! I thinking what benefits if I leave Wikipedia, I'm getting blocked for no reason. My goal was to be an admin. Adventuring and reverting was what I was trying but you guys stopped my fun and education. --Sylvia 00:48, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
- You are not blocked. However, you may be hitting an autoblock. I suspect (but cannot be sure) that you are hitting the autoblock because of a block placed on 71.231.130.56. Unfortunately, the excessive amount of abuse originating from that IP address have forced us to block the IP address. If we leave it unblocked, users from that address simply create new abusive sockpuppet accounts to get around the block (or edit abusively from that address). This has been going on for a long time and enough is enough. --Yamla 00:53, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
-
- Yes, I am. Can someone lift the autoblock? I haven't create a sockpuppet. I have a shred IP with people all around the world and does it affect me? Yes. Just unblock me. I've been making resourceful edits and I've been doing good duties for admins and Wikipedia. --Sylvia 01:00, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
I should have been more clear. Your user account is not blocked. Only the IP address you are using is blocked. At least, I presume that's what is happening. I can't say for sure because I don't have firm evidence that you are on that IP address. You say that your IP address is shared with people all around the world. Assuming you are on 71.231.130.56 (again, I don't know this for sure), this is not the case. That IP address belongs to comcast. If instead you are using an open proxy (this could be what you mean by 'shred IP with people all around the world'), we need to permanently ban that open proxy. This is unlikely, though. It seemed more likely that it was just a small number of people, perhaps all in one family. --Yamla 01:15, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

- There's an impersonator of Lindsay1980. Her IP is the same as mine and someone said I don't know on her talk page pretending to be her. --Sylvia 01:08, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
-
The abuse is far more widespread than that. Again, assuming we are talking about 71.231.130.56, there are many documented instances of abuse. Further, there have been several shorter blocks in an attempt to rein in the abuse but it clearly has not helped. --Yamla 01:15, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] 71.231.130.56
- Yamla, if you are reading this, then I will tell you that the IP 71.231.130.56 is a company IP for comcast and it is worldwide. You could very well be blocking innocent people. --Sylvia 01:51, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
- For which company? Why are they permitting users from all across the world? Are you sure about this? --Yamla 19:46, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
- Looks to me to be a Comcast IP address in Oregon. Since you appear to have a fixed IP address (from what I remember you've posted from that IP address on multiple occasions), why don't you contact Comcast and ask them to give you a different one? Mark Grant 19:51, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
-
- Yes. Someone else I know has the same IP. We've tried changing it but we can't. --Sylvia 00:29, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
If any one his reading this, please add it to my userpage (must be an admin or trusted user).

[edit] Aly
I'd like to believe she's German, I think she looks German/Slavic but jack has a point, we really have no solid basis for that belief. Maybe we should write her a letter? - Schrandit
Shiite and Jewish? How can this be?Jaber90 01:08, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
- Well, my mothers family has always has been Jewish, and she wants to carry it on. I remain Shiite by praying and celebrating so we can remain our traditions. --Sylvia 20:21, 13 September 2006 (UTC)
