Spare a Copper

Spare a Copper is a 1941 film starring George Formby and Dorothy Hyson where George Formby plays a War Reservist police officer who aspires to become a member of the flying squad (called George Carter). The film is set in Merseyside where the battleship 'HMS Hercules' is being built. George manages to foil the plot saving the battleship 'HMS Hercules' from being blown up by saboteurs. One of the saboteurs called 'Jake' is played by Bernard Lee.
