South Thailand insurgency: A gun battle between Royal Thai Army soldiers and suspected insurgents left five rebels dead in Yala Province. In another incident, two soldiers guarding a railway were killed in an attack. A bomb went off in Narathiwat Province, killing one person and injuring six. Gangs of youths torched buildings, forcing people to flee, reports said. Access to YouTube is restored in Thailand, after the Ministry of Information and Communications Technolgy said it had been assured by the video-sharing website that viewers from Thailand would be blocked from seeing images that are illegal in Thailand. YouTube had been blocked since April, after a video deemed offensive to King Bhumibol Adulyadej was uploaded to the site. (Nation)
