Somotor (Hungarian: Szomotor) is a village and municipality in the Trebišov District in the Košice Region of south-eastern Slovakia.

In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1214.
A Jewish community has existed in this town prior to WWII, which was destroyed in 1944 by Nazi Germany. A Jewish cemetery exists in this town, contact J. Rubin in Brooklyn NY at: starjsrNOSPAM@gmail.com for a CD containing hi-res photos of all headstones in this cemetery, including the surrounding area. The village lies at an altitude of 109 metres and covers an area of 16.309 km². It has a population of about 1665 people.

The village is roughly 70% Magyar and 28% Slovak and 2% Gypsy.
