[edit] Sonoma Sol
A tag has been placed on Sonoma Sol, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be a biographical account about a person, group of people, or band, but it does not indicate how or why he/she/they is/are notable. If you can indicate why Sonoma Sol is really notable, I advise you to edit the article promptly, and also put a note on Talk:Sonoma Sol. Any admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles. You might also want to read our general biography criteria. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that admins should wait a while for you to assert his/her/their notability, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and then immediately add such an assertion. It is also a very good idea to add citations from reliable sources to ensure that your article will be verifiable. Wizardry Dragon 16:56, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
I have added links to the page and independent sources (external websites) that verify importance. This should not be deleted. If necessary, put it on the articles for deletion page and I will debate the heck out of it. (Why delete the Sonoma Sol article but not delete the article about the teams it plays against, and the league it plays in????) SolMan 18:20, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not arguing with you, that was just a friendly warning not to remove the deletion template, as that is considered vandalism. As I said, I'm not the one that put it up for deletion, so I don't know the rationale behind it's canadidacy for deletion. Wizardry Dragon 18:27, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
Thanks, this is my first Wikipedia article and so I am just learning the protocols.SolMan 18:30, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
What is the next step? I see it is no longer a "speedy deletion" candidate, but I thought it was-- did somebody remove it from that list? Does it go to the Articles for Deletion page and then I get to debate the issue with the individual who marked it for deletion?SolMan 18:32, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
The template at the beginning of the Sonoma Sol article says "You may remove this message if you improve the article, or if you otherwise object to deletion of the article for any reason." I have improved the article and I otherwise object, so can I go ahead and delete the message???? SolMan 18:49, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
- I would go ahead and remove it at this time, along with the other templates. If someone else lists it again, at least at that time they can hopefully explain themselves in greater depth. By the way, welcome to Wikipedia! Wizardry Dragon 18:58, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
Thank you! I will do so.SolMan 19:00, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
