[edit] Thoughts on breakdown of campaign box

In addition to the Guadalcanal campaign, I've been thinking of breaking the Solomon Islands campaign into further campaigns-within-the-campaign. My thinking was to breakdown the Solomons campaign into something like this:

  • Solomon Islands campaignbox:
1st Tulagi - Guadalcanal - Cartwheel - Death of Yamamoto - Central Solomons - Bougainville
  • Central Solomons campaignbox:
Blackett Strait - The various land battles that right now are all included in the New Georgia entry - Kula Gulf - Kolombangara - Vella Gulf - Horaniu - Vella Lavella - Naval Vella Lavella
  • Bougainville campaignbox:
Treasury Islands - Choiseul - Empress Augusta Bay - Cape St. George - Green Is. - 2nd Rabaul - The various land battles that occurred on Bougainville for which there aren't, as of yet, seperate articles (Hyakutake's counteroffensive, Hellzapoppin' Ridge, etc)

My reasoning for doing so is that once we start adding seperate entries for the various land battles on New Georgia and Bougainville, the Solomon"s campaignbox will become large and unwieldy. I welcome any thoughts or suggestions on my idea. Cla68 05:38, 20 November 2006 (UTC)

IMHO it would be better to have one box for the Solomons, including single entries for New Georgia and Bougainville, and to have separate boxes for for New Georgia and Bougainville that are used on the subsidiary articles when they are written. Grant65 | Talk 07:56, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
