[edit] The "|"
It is shift+the back slash (should be directly above your "enter" key). It looks like two small vertical bars, but when typed appears as a solid line. Aboutmovies (talk) 22:33, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

Ross Hutchins
The article Ross Hutchins has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content. If you can provide more information about this subject, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.
Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 18:01, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Bob Lanier
According to WP:V, "The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth—meaning, in this context, whether readers are able to check that material added to Wikipedia has already been published by a reliable source, not whether we think it is true. Editors should provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is challenged or is likely to be challenged, or the material may be removed." Please provide a reliable source that states that Lanier recorded a quintuple double, and we can include it in the article. Bash Kash (talk) 19:09, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
[edit] June 2008
Thanks for experimenting with the page 2008 Philadelphia Phillies season on Wikipedia. Your recent edit appears to have added incorrect information, and has been reverted or removed. All information in the encyclopedia must be verifiable in a reliable published source. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Information for the season pages is drawn directly from the official MLB box score, and blatantly incorrect attendance figures, among others, can and will be vigorously reverted. - Hearing something on the radio does not make it verifiable. Please read the policy, which states that "[the] threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth—meaning, in this context, whether readers are able to check that material added to Wikipedia has already been published by a reliable source, not whether we think it is true." This source and this one are both verifiable sources.KV5 • Squawk box • Fight on! 11:03, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Redirects
If you'd like to create a redirect page, you can create the page with the name you would like to redirect, then click the #R button at the top of the editor, then fill in your link. Alternatively, you can insert the code #REDIRECT [[Insert text]], making sure to enclose the link to the alternative site in double square brackets (the wikilink) so that it redirects properly. If you would like to see an example that I've done, go to Phillies seasons. This will redirect you to "Philadelphia Phillies seasons," and there is a link at the top so you can look at the code for the redirect. If you need more help, just ask! [edit] Recent edits to Tiger Woods
I still believe your recent addition should not be included because the event is not notable. Additionally, the section contains original research: were the remarks really "controversial?" What "criticism" was offered? Please see Wikipedia:NOT#NEWS and Wikipedia:OR. Farside6 (talk) 01:36, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Tiger Woods. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. Please discuss on the talk page thread before reverting again. ZimZalaBim talk 12:02, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Rushfrank.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Rushfrank.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ZimZalaBim talk 12:41, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Rushfrank.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Rushfrank.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:13, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
- Please stop removing this tag fromImage:Rushfrank.jpg. The image is orphaned. --ZimZalaBim talk 20:41, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! -
- If you have permission from the author leave a message explaining the details at Talk:National Golf Coaches Association and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.

[edit] Images
A number of the images you have uploaded appear to be taken from websites, which are likely protected under copyright, and not licensed under Creative Commons like you suggest. For example, Image:Psumenchampions.jpg seems to come from here. Please familiarize yourself with our image use policy, as we generally cannot accept copyright-protected images without valid fair use rationales. Thank you. --ZimZalaBim talk 16:24, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
- Note I have tagged your images as possibly unfree and listed them here for others to review. --ZimZalaBim talk 16:36, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Commercial use of Image:Bruins1989.jpg
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Bruins1989.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Bruins1989.jpg has a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission, which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3). While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, this is in fact not the case[1][2]. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. See our non-free content guidelines for more more information.
If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.
If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.
If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:Bruins1989.jpg itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. If you have any questions about what to do next or why your image was nominated for speedy deletion please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thanks. [edit] Proposed deletion of Huggy Wuggy
A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Huggy Wuggy, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Blanchardb-Me•MyEars•MyMouth-timed 13:28, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Tiger Woods
Please do not delete content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Tiger Woods, without explaining the valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. Just becuase your contribution has been considered by some to be inappropriate, does not mean you should remove other content that has been included. Please don't disrupt articles to make a point. ZimZalaBim talk 13:37, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] AfD nomination of Huggy Wuggy
I have nominated Huggy Wuggy, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Huggy Wuggy. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? ZimZalaBim talk 13:39, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Your edits
Hi. A large majority of your edits seem to be less-than-constructive, either inserting inappropriate material, uploading copyright-protected images, or creating inappropriate articles. I suggest you pause, and read through the articles provided in the "welcome" message at the top of this talk page. Further disruption could lead to suspension of your editing privileges. Thanks. --ZimZalaBim talk 13:43, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Speedy deletion of Huggy Wuggy
A tag has been placed on Huggy Wuggy, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Alexius08 is welcome to talk about his contributions. 14:31, 9 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding your edits
It is unnecessary to include this information in the article Brett Myers at this time. It is easier to classify and categorize baseball statistics month by month. Please be civil. Do not use the existence of other pages to justify the existence of information which you consider to be notable. Thank you. KV5 • Squawk box • Fight on! 14:00, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
- That doesn't make it right. Please read WP:NOT. Thanks. KV5 • Squawk box • Fight on! 14:09, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
- It's a baseball statistic. Save (baseball) is the article for it. Closers earn them at the end of games. KV5 • Squawk box • Fight on! 14:33, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
