Sir Alexander Mackenzie Senior Public School is a middle school (grades 7 and 8) located in Agincourt, Toronto, Ontario. The school was found in 1971, and was named after the explorer Alexander Mackenzie. SAM (abbrev.) is a part of the Toronto District School Board. SAM is an accepted rival to Henry Kelsey Senior Public School. Currently there are 485 students enrolled in Sir Alexander Mackenzie. As of 2007 the school is comprised of 10 Grade 7 classes and 9 Grade 8 classes. In the 2007-2008 school year, there are 9 Grade 7 classes and 9 Grade 8 classes. Also, SAM has 3 programs in it's classes. One being the 'French Extended Program,' which has 3 periods of French in place of the English core classes, and vice-versa. The students in the 'French Extended Program' learn French, geography and history in French. 'French Immersion Program,' where they learn French, geography in French, history in French, as well as math in French, and the 'Core Program," which is the normal program, with 3 periods of English.
