The Shire of Indigo is a Local Government Area in Victoria, Australia. It is located in the north-eastern part of the state. It includes the towns of Beechworth, Chiltern and Rutherglen. It has an area of 2,070 square kilometres. In 2006 it had a population of 14,800. It was formed in 1994 from the merger of the Shire of Rutherglen, Shire of Chiltern, Shire of Yackandandah and United Shire of Beechworth.
