Sheldon M. Chumir Centre

The Sheldon M. Chumir Centre is a hospital located in Calgary, Alberta. The facility is administered by the Calgary Health Region.

The centre is on the site of the former Colonel Belcher veterans hospital, across from Central Memorial Park.

The facility is named for Sheldon Chumir, a long-time Liberal Party Member of the Legislative Assembly for Alberta who represented constituents in Calgary in the provincial government.

The Sheldon M. Chumir Health Centre will have a staggered opening starting from early spring 2008 to the autumn. The 1st and 3rd floors will include urgent care, diagnostic imaging, Calgary Laboratory Services, Southern Alberta Clinic (SAC), and all associated areas such as health records, support services, and admitting, and will be operational at 0800 hours on April 1, 2008.

Subsequent floors will open in ascending order from the 2nd through the 7th and include Southern Alberta Renal Program (SARP) (relocating from their current location at Health on 12th).
