Sheldon Chumir

Sheldon Chumir (1940 - January 26, 1992) was a politician from Alberta, Canada.
Sheldon was elected in the 1986 Alberta general election for the Alberta Liberal Party defeating Progressive Conservative Brian Lee. Sheldon was part of a group 4 Liberal MLAs elected that election who brought the party back to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta for the first time since 1969.
Sheldon was elected to a second term in the Legislative Assembly in 1989. He died in 1992 from Lymphoma Cancer.

An 8 story medical facility is under construction in Calgary, and has been named the Sheldon M. Chumir Centre.
