[edit] List of the Rock Guitarists on Wikipedia

I have put Shawn's name in the list of instrumentan rock artists on Wikipedia. It was a big surprise for me not to find him there!

I edited out the "citation needed" tag for the line "showed a lot of promise." That's not a line you're going to find a citation for. If someone has an issue with that line, either discuss it as NPOV or have the balls to take it out. Don't just go slapping an irritating "citation needed" tag on things that could be better edited.

[edit] question

Should this article not mention his stunning technical ability on the guitar? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.107.173.145 (talk) 02:29, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

He certainly was stunning(understatement). But personal opinions or original research are not allowed on Wikipedia. Only verifiable referenced content that is cited from reliable sources. 156.34.209.243 02:48, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

Surely it's neither personal opinion or original research, it's well documented fact! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.107.198.163 (talk) 22:02, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

It likely is well documented. And if those references are from verifiable and reliable sources then they can be added in. But opinions lacking citations are original research on Wikipedia and can't be added without proper references. See WP:CITE. Blogs, chats and fansites are not reliable sources and can't be added to Wikipedia as per WP:EL. A direct quote from a professional publication can be added if it's verifiable and referenced properly with an inline cite. But even then, peacock term and fancrufting can't be added into the lead-in. They can be added in proper chronology to the rest of the article content. IE: If Guitar Player Magazine said he was a truly gifted guitarist in 2001... then that could be added in. A Guitar Player Magazine PSecial Issue was put out in early 2007 with Lane on the cover... I'm suprised someone hasn't lifted a quote from it yet. It would be allowed if it had the proper reference. 156.34.230.78 23:16, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

I think someone needs to remove the bit about his "psoriasis" because I do not think it is true. It doesn't fit the info about this elsewhere on wiki (treatment is the use of NON-STEROIDAL anti-inflamatories) and I sense this is a rumor that has somehow sprouted up in order to apologize for his weight problem. He got progressively fatter as time went by but my understanding is that it was from other factors (eating, smoking incessantly, non-active, body type that was conducive to gaining weight).  ? Can someone check into that? thanks, Professor Greibowitz. 75.65.40.109 (talk) 18:27, 6 December 2007 (UTC)

Sorry Professor Greibowtz, treatments for Psoriatic arthritis include Corticosteroids, so your complaint is not valid and the information IS found elsewhere on wiki.--Shreddakj (talk) 02:48, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Tri-tone fascination

I have created a page for The Tri-Tone Fascination. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Shreddakj (talkcontribs) 12:51, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
