[edit] Biography

Shaggy was born in Gastonia, North Carolina. His parents moved to a smaller suburb of the major market of Charlotte when he was 7. Growing up in the middle of nowhere, Shaggy grew up listening to radio personalities like Curly Joe from AM station WKMT 1220 as well as Henry Boggins from WBT. Drawing from those influences, as well as the teaching of "Chatty" Hattie Leeper and "Apollo" from Apollo Productions, Shaggy has produced elements for national syndicated shows on Sirius, XM, NASCAR, and more than 400 terrestrial radio stations across the globe. In 1999, Shaggy went to finish his education at Chatty's School of Communication in Charlotte and eventually ended up teaching there for five years. Now residing in Maui, Shaggy runs a daily show on KNUQ, KDLX, and through his website at http://www.shaggylive.com called "Shaggy Live."

When he was 14, he had a crush on a girl who described him as being "too ugly" to date.
