Sh-K-Boom Records is a record label, a producer of recorded and live entertainment, and an interactive community at www.sh-k-boom.com — all devoted to the mission of bridging the gap between pop music and theater. Founded by Kurt Deutsch and Sherie Rene Scott in 2000, Sh-K-Boom has over 40 albums in its catalogue, produced over 50 live concerts in their Sh-K-Boom Room Concert Series, and is developing new and innovative projects for the stage and screen. In 2004 Sh-K-Boom created their second imprint, Ghostlight Records a label dedicated to the preservation of traditional musical theater.

Sh-K-Boom has produced and released the debut solo albums of Broadway stars such as Adam Pascal, Sherie Rene Scott, Patti LuPone, Alice Ripley, Daphne Rubin-Vega, and Julia Murney. Sh-K-Boom has also produced and released cast albums, some of which include: the World Premiere Recording of Michel Legrand’s musical Amour (9 Drama Desk nominations and 5 Tony Award nominations); Jason Robert Brown’s musical, The Last Five Years (winner of the 2002 Drama Desk Awards for Outstanding Music and Outstanding Lyrics); the Off-Broadway production of Debbie Does Dallas; the Obie Award-winning production of A Very Merry Unauthorized Scientology Pageant; the debut CD for the hit off-Broadway sensation Altar Boyz; the premiere recording of Paul Scott Goodman’s rock opera Bright Lights, Big City; the Tony Award-winning production of The Drowsy Chaperone; the off-Broadway revival of The Fantasticks, as well as Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Little Women, and White Christmas. Sh-K-Boom Records most recently released the cast albums for Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me, High Fidelity, and Legally Blonde, the Musical. Legally Blonde debuted at no. 86 on the Billboard 200.

Sh-K-Boom Records has been nominated four times for a Grammy Award; their first for Great Joy! A Gospel Christmas by Michael McElroy’s acclaimed Broadway Inspirational Voices. Sh-K-Boom is also developing original Broadway and Off-Broadway musicals, as well as other recording projects with New Generation Broadway artists and composers.
