All About MusicMaker5376
I was born. I don't think I liked it very much: I went from being quite warm to very cold in just a few moments. And, really, who likes that?
I went to school. They told me I could be anything I wanted. They lied. Bastards.
I went to college, because that's what they told me to do. 'Nova was fun. I drank a lot and smoked a lot of pot. I didn't graduate, because I drank a lot and smoked a lot of pot. The fun thing is never the right thing. That's what I learned in college. That, and my social security number.
Thirty years later, here I am. I'd like to go back to being quite warm.
I've only been actively engaged on Wikipedia since around January 2006. I've recently (June 2006) begun working with WikiProject Musical Theatre. I guess you could say I spearheaded it: there was a dormant project and I sent out a few messages and got it up and viable. There is definitely a need for it. I'm looking forward to collaborating with several good editors out there.
I have been known to
boogie.
My WikiPhilosophy
Okay. Okay. Okay. After months and months of soul-searching, introspection, and a misguided but well-intended experiment with a perm (it was fun to feel like Mr. Kot-TER...), I've come to the lengthy and painful conclusion that I am a deletionist. In this beautiful socio-experiment called Wikipedia, it seems that 95% of the editors on here just want to contribute. We're called "editors" for a reason — with so many people willing to add excruciating minutiae to every article in sight, someone has to come along with a blue pencil and get rid of the effluvium. I get a little woozy when I edit an article and check the history to see a decrease in the neighborhood of 10,000 bytes without losing any information necessary to the casual reader. I'll admit, at times I can be a little overzealous, and, for that, I apologize. However, cut I shall and with vigor! Beware my blue pencil!
Places I've Been
|
Amsterdam, The Netherlands
- The Happiest Place on Earth
Athens, Greece
- Mar-bla Tem-plas -- pretty, old, kinda dirty
Baltimore, Maryland
- I was there three times in one April several years ago. It's quite a hick town.
Boston, Massachusetts
- I like Boston. Every bar really feels like Cheers.
Brussels, Belgium
- Very baroque. And you know what they say, if it ain't baroque, you must be in Brussels.
Dachau, Germany
- Really, there are no words.
Dinkelsbühl, Germany
- Sa-weet town in Bavaria
Hershey, Pennsylvania
- The whole town smells like chocolate.
Lancaster, Pennsylvania
- There's nothing at all fun about Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Lucerne, Switzerland
- Don't really remember it. I guess that means I'm neutral.
Milan, Italy
- Beautiful city
Montreal, Canada
- Probably the most fun I've had in North America.
Nassau, The Bahamas
- Fun times, fun times. But, on the whole, I dislike tropical destinations.
|
New York, New York
- The greatest city on Earth. Period.
 Niagara Falls, Canada/New York
- Eh. Beyond the Falls it's really just a honeymoon nightmare.
Orlando, Florida
- Theme parks out the ass.
Paris, France
- Dirty, mean, smelly, ugly -- wouldn't go back if you paid me
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
- Eh. It has it's ups and downs, but I like it. Most of it, anyway.
Pont-à-Mousson, France
- Lovely little town; stayed in a converted abbey, there.
Salzberg, Austria
- Very music-y
Salt Lake City, Utah
- Very nice city: clean, the people are nice. But not what you'd call a "party town".
Sellingen, The Netherlands
- Had a homestay there, small town. Nice.
Toronto, Canada
- Great town.
Venice, Italy
- Perhaps the most beautiful city on the planet.
Washington, D.C.
- Again, not exactly what you'd call a "party town".
Williamsburg, Virginia
- See: Lancaster, Pennsylvania
