[edit] Release and reception
Sarah Harding has described "Sexy! No No No..." on the official Girls Aloud website as "edgy", and a major advance in Girls Aloud's sound.[1] The song was premiered on The Chris Moyles Show on BBC Radio 1 on July 20 at 7.55am.[2] A high quality radio rip leaked the night before, and the official radio edit of the song leaked onto the internet the day of the radio premiere. The single was B-Listed on BBC Radio 1.
Girls Aloud gave their first TV performance of the song on T4 on the Beach on Channel 4 on July 22, receiving a good reception from the fans. They later performed the song on Dance X, The National Lottery, GMTV, and ITV's special Saturday Night Divas.
[edit] Music video
Nadine Coyle appeared on the RTÉ One show "Saturday Night With Miriam" on July 14, saying that Girls Aloud would film the video the week beginning July 16.[3] Backstage at T4 on the Beach, Kimberley Walsh said that the video was more artistic and edgier. The Daily Star released pictures from the video shoot on August 7 featuring the girls dressed in tight black PVC catsuits standing in front of a green screen, suggesting that special effects would be used in the video.[4] The video, directed by Trudy Bellinger,[5] premiered on satellite and cable music channels on August 10.
At the start, the girls are wearing their catsuits, standing in front of red material, with flowers being shown and a seamstress starting work on a dress. When the chorus begins, the camera zooms out to show the girls wearing giant inflatable red dresses. The seamstress starts putting large pins into her dress, poking their way around the girls, until the pins start tearing into their dresses. The pins tear the dresses off, and the girls are back in their catsuits, surrounded by the threads of their dresses.
The video is similar to the one of Christina Aguilera's "Fighter", with both videos having large inflatable dresses and over-sized pins as themes.[original research?] The Video won the Virgin Media Award for 'Best Video'

[edit] B-side
On August 16, 2007, a 29 second clip of "Dog Without A Bone" leaked onto the internet, initially proving to have a mixed reaction with fans. The popular website PopJustice named it as their "Song Of The Day" on August 20, 2007. The website featured another 30 second sample, this time containing the chorus of the song. The song has been described as a mixture between Jamelia's "Beware Of The Dog" and Goldfrapp's "Train" if it were in their later glam rock style.[13]
On August 31, 2007, the full song was leaked a mere few days before the release of the single. It garnered an overwhelmingly positive reaction from members of the official forum as well as other unofficial forums. The song was released on September 3 along with "Sexy! No No No…".
