[edit] Biography

Severed Hand has been a prominent act in the New Jersey Heavy Metal scene since 2000. The band has received minor notoriety from having in its ranks drummer Paris Bierk, son of ex-Skid Row lead singer Sebastian Bach. Severed Hand has made a considerable impact worldwide with their debut album selling a notable amount in Germany and receiving rave reviews in Heavy Magazine - one of Germany's biggest heavy metal magazines.

In 2006, the band parted with lead vocalist Walter Figueroa after a fight between Christian and the singer when their bus, which Figueroa provided for the band's U.S. tour, broke down in Texas. The band blamed Figueroa for the mishap and since then, guitarist and original vocalist David Keelan has resumed vocal duties.

As of late 2007, the future of Severed Hand is relatively unknown. Both Paul Christian and Dave Keelen have been playing around the New Jersey area as Brady's Bunch, a funk band whose subject matter is based around taboo subjects such as blasphemy, date rape, and devil worship. Drummer Paris has also been active with the band Roxbury, appearing on the podcast show "Talking Metal" hosted by Vh1 metal expert John Ostronomy and playing several shows in Manhattan clubs during the summer of 2007. While both bands seem to still be active, there has been no word on whether Severed Hand has broken up or not.
