This is a comprehensive discography of Sepultura, a Brazilian thrash metal band. Sepultura has released ten studio albums, two live albums, four compilation albums, four extended plays, two DVDs, eleven singles and fifteen music videos. This list does not include material performed by members of Sepultura that was recorded with Sarcófago, Nailbomb, Soulfly and Cavalera Conspiracy.

Sepultura (which means grave in Portuguese) was formed in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, in 1983, when the brothers Max and Igor Cavalera teamed up with friends Paulo Jr. and Jairo Guedz.[1][2] After undertaking some shows, the band signed its first record contract and recorded four songs for a split LP with fellow Brazilians Overdose, released by label Cogumelo Records.[3]

Morbid Visions, the first studio album by band, was released in 1986 by Cogumelo Records. After touring in support of the release, the guitarist Jairo Guedz decided to leave the band, being replaced by Andreas Kisser. With the new formation, Sepultura recorded, in 1987, Schizophrenia. Beneath the Remains, the first album from the band's contract with Roadrunner Records, was released in 1989. The album was produced by Scott Burns.[3]

Arise was released in 1991 and to acclaim from critics and fans.[3] In 1993 Chaos A.D. was released. The album brought some tribal influences and the sound differs from that of the first albums, but continued to be "heavy".[1] Roots was released in 1996 with influences from Brazilian culture. This album is the most successful effort, debuting at number 27 in the Billboard 200.[4] Max Cavalera left the band, and subsequently formed a new one, Soulfly. The others announced that they would continue under the Sepultura name and were searching for a replacement.

A recording of Max's last show with the band was later released as a live album, 2002's Under a Pale Grey Sky by their former record label Roadrunner Records, against the wishes of the band. Derrick Green from Cleveland wound up filling the frontman spot, and the band released Against in 1998.[3] Nation was the last studio album from a contract with the label Roadrunner Records. Roorback was released in 2003. It is their first release on German label SPV. In 2005 Sepultura released the live album Live in São Paulo, on double CD and DVD formats.[2][3] Dante XXI was released in 2006 as a concept album, that is inspired by the literary classic Divine Comedy, of Dante Alighieri. In the same year, the drummer Igor Cavalera, who had not participated in the tour, left the band.[1] Despite the departure of Cavalera, Sepultura continues performing with a new drummer, Jean Dolabella. Sepultura is considered the most successful Brazilian heavy metal band ever.[3]
