I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Again, welcome!  —Cuiviénen (Cuivië) 03:32, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re:Thanks

Ha ha, I wish I was an administrator. I just saw your helpful edits to Hurricane Dennis and saw that no one had welcomed you yet. We couldn't have that, now, could we?

Anyway, it's good to here about someone with things in common with me edits on Wikipedia. I'm glad that you finally decided to make an account. —Cuiviénen (Cuivië) 04:48, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Userboxes

Userboxes are, according to some, absolute evil, and according to others, a blessing. I fall into the latter camp. Basically, you can find a HUGE list of userboxes at WP:UBX from which you pick any number of them and put them on your page as templates (by surrounding them with braces, such as {{user en}}, which gives

en This user is a native speaker of English.

There's been a lot of debate recently as to the merits of userboxes; the general consent was that it is recommended that users refrain from using so-called divisive userboxes. It is also recommended that you use {{subst:user en}} instead of the actual template link in order to place the formatting of the userbox directly on your userpage rather than linking to the userbox and eating up an (albeit tiny) portion of Wikipedia's bandwidth. —Cuiviénen (Cuivië) 05:02, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

Hey SearedIce

Thanks for stubbifying the article I started today. And thanks for contributing. I am very thankful for people like you, because I am still learning how to do wikipedia. -User Talk:Kramer

[edit] Feathering

Although you wrote everything off your head (as many of us do), this does not mean you invented all this. You have read or heard about it from somewhere. These things are not "common knowledge", or, so to put it differently, the article is not for this who already knows it all. All what I can say more may be found in wikipedia:Verifiability, Wikipedia:Cite your sources, Wikipedia:No original research.

Please keep in mind that the "cite reference" tag is not a threat to you, it is a reminder to all of us that an important element is missing. Just as I added a category to your artice, someone else may add references. But since you seem to know the area, I would suggest you to do a google search and add 1-2 most reputable websites (not just blogs and preferrably not intrusively commercial) that cover the topic.

Good luck, mikka (t) 05:52, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Architecture Wikiproject

I was wondering if you might be interested in joining Wikipedia:WikiProject Architecture. Also we've been revamping the Architecture Portal and nominations to Portal:Architecture/Selected picture candidates and Portal:Architecture/Selected article candidates will always be welcome.--Mcginnly 09:29, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hey John!

Hiya John. Yes, the SHHS page is defaced every couple months. I didn't know you knew so many programming languages... heh. Assembly? Perl? Cool stuff. - Mark --kramtark 03:23, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Prod

[edit] Gun Fu - Animal Fighting Styles

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Gun Fu - Animal Fighting Styles, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at its talk page. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. [edit] AfD nomination of Helen Kate Furness Free Library

An editor has nominated Helen Kate Furness Free Library, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Helen Kate Furness Free Library and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 07:44, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
