Sean Robert Douglas

Sean Douglas (born 1974 in Toledo, Ohio) is a professional muay thai and mixed martial arts fighter and contender for the International Kickboxing Federation title. At the age of 5, he began to take TaeKwonDo classes. Throughout the next 15 years, he took classes in various martial arts, earning a black belt in TaeKwonDo and Okinawa Te Jitsu. In 1992, he entered the United States Marine Corp. While enlisted, he began training in Okinawa Te Jitsu and later, muay thai. While stationed in Okinawa, Japan, Douglas fought in the Okinawa Strong, the largest knockdown karate tournament in Okinawa. In 1998, Douglas opened his first muay thai gym in Toledo, Ohio. This is where he met Aaron Fisher, who he would later train to win two US muay thai titles. In 1999, Douglas fought for the vacant IKF Sanshou title against Al Loroux. Douglas lost that fight due to an injury to his elbow during the 3rd round. In 2004, Douglas went to Thailand to train muay Thai in its birthplace. While there he met his wife, Paweena (Bo). In early 2006, Douglas and his wife started Chalong Chai Muay Thai. Douglas has had over 100 armature competitions and has a professional fight record of 20 wins and 4 losses including wins at historical Lumpinee stadium in Bangkok and in King of the Cage in Singapore.
