Sde Nitzan

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sde Nitzan (Hebrew: שדה ניצן‎, lit. Field of Flowers) is a moshav located near Beersheba in the northern Negev desert in Israel. Now a major producer of roses for export to America, the moshav was established shortly after the Six-Day War by the grandson of the Yiddish author I.L. Peretz in an attempt to attract English-speaking settlers, particularly from America.[1] The Moshav initially concentrated on growing tomatoes, although floriculture has become increasingly important to the its economy.
