[edit] Career
Rendell started his career on the books of Aldershot Town before joining nearby Reading. Whilst a Reading player he was loaned back to Aldershot, and had work experience at Forest Green Rovers and Hayes[1]
Rendell scored Forest Green's first ever goal at a professional football club and played for Aldershot Town before joining Cambridge United. He had started his career with Reading but was unable to establish himself in their first team.
After an injury to fellow United striker Lee Boylan, Rendell was given a first team oppurtunity and had scored 22 goals by mid-February.
On 18 February 2008, Rendell joined Cambridge's arch rivals, Peterborough United on loan with a view to a permanent transfer for a fee of £115,000. The move was made permament in May.[2]
