Schenks and Chekwelhp

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Schenks (Squamish Schètx̱w) and Chekwelp (Chekwelhp) are two villages of the Indigenous Sḵwxwú7mesh, located near what is now known as Gibsons, British Columbia. Although vacant for years, these villages are told in the oral history as the birth place of the Sḵwxwú7mesh, after what they call the Great Flood.
