Saxifraga stellaris (Starry Saxifrage) is a species of saxifrage native to central and northern Europe, occurring in mountains from the British Isles and Scandinavia south to the Alps. It is a herbaceous perennial plant with a basal rosette of oval, hairy leaves 5-10 cm long. The small flowers are produced in a cluster on a dark tinted stem 15-30 cm tall; each flower is 10-15 mm diameter, with five white petals and a ring of large yellow stamens.
