PLEASE do remove the comparison to 60s Batman live action show, it is very disrespectful. The stunts that Santo himself carried out in the movies (asides from the wrestling scenes) were all very dangerous and he did it himself, difering ENTIRELY with the 60s Batman series where the actors were never in stunts or sufering real pain. Please someone do this since the blunt comparison is not sustainable at all. Thank you.
I propse moving this page to Santo, as that is what he is actually known as, per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (common names). Is there agreement?--Pharos 06:39, 11 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- I sort of agree. Then again, Rodolfo Guzmán Huerta is his real name, I sort of interpret the page you reference above as more a guideline to use the most common form of the person's name, not an entirely different nickname. So I'm not sure. Given that Santo redirects here, is there a lot of gain in moving it?-JZ

- Well, putting the article at "Santo" makes it more likely to turn up in a search engine query. I think that's basically the main benefit of having an article at the most common name.--Pharos 08:27, 11 Mar 2005 (UTC)

- Yeah, the thing is that "El Santo" seems to have been his working name earlier in his career, but it seems to have changed to just Santo, or preferably "Santo, el enmascarado de plata" by the time his movie career started. Given that he's mostly known for his mid-to-later career, I guess Santo is the correct title. So yeah, I concur with a move there. JZ
- OK, I moved it (as you can see), and also categorized the article and added a movie poster.--Pharos 08:32, 12 Mar 2005 (UTC)

I am not 100% certain that is an actual picture of El Santo on the front page. First of all, it is in color, and most authentic pictures of El Santo at his most muscular were black and white. This may be a picture of El Hijo Del Santo, or possibly another individual in a Santo costume. Regardless, I would suggest using a classic B&W photo of El Santo. Hooper_X 04:44, 6 Jun 2005 (UTC)
[edit] El Santo in Cartoon Network
there is no mention of the the cartoon series made by Cartoon Network that were showed in México last year, it was like the Star Wars: The Clone Wars, short cartoons, I don't know if they were aired only in México and sincerely I don't have much information, but it will be good to have this reference in the article, since it shows how the fame of El Santo lasts till our days
[edit] Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter
I am removing JCVH from the list of movies, as the Santo in the film was not the original Santo. 24.163.66.210 19:53, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] I have a question
Well, it´s about El Santo´s funeral.
I´ve heard it was the biggest funeral of ALL Mexico. Can someone confirm me and give me some facts about that?

I'm not sure, I was very young when it happened but can't remember it as such a big deal. One I do have very present in my mind was that of Mario Moreno "Cantinflas",back in 1991(?). But perhaps (not sure about that) could have been those related to Jorge Negrete or Pedro Infante. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.135.4.156 (talk) 16:58, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

I created an infobox. If anyone has information I couldn't find for the template, please add it. -- Kevin Browning 08:02, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
