Some próceres outstanding of Santiago of the Matting are, colonel Juan Francisco Borges, leader of Independence (ancestor of Jorge Luis Borges, the writer), and Felipe Taboada, painter of century XIX and Ramon Carrillo (doctor). In the field of the arts, it equipped to the country with important representatives, like Ramon Gómez Cornet, Carlos Sánchez Gramajo, Alfredo Gogna, Ricardo and Rafael Touriño (plastic arts); Jorge Washington Ábalos, Bernardo Canal Feijóo Channel, Clementina Rosa Quenel and Julio Carreras (h), in Literature. But most outstanding of this community it is its music. Special individual and, along with the tango, its rates, the chacarera and the zamba, they are most symbolic of the Argentine culture in the world. They have provided to the Argentina of great musicians, for example The Ábalos Brothers, The Manseros Santiagueños, Alfredo Ábalos, Jacinto Piedra, Raly Barrionuevo and many others.

[edit] Doesn't exist winter???

I live in Santiago del Estero and YES, winter exists, and it's very cold. I don't know why the article says that here winter doesnt exists
