Salkhit

Salkhit (Mongolian: Салхит) is a settlement in Khongor sum (district) of Darkhan-Uul Province in northern Mongolia.

Salkhit is placed on Kharaa gol river (a right tributary of theOrkhon river), 13 km South from Khongor sum center and 33 km South from the aimag capital Darkhan.

Salkhit is the railway station where 164 km long line Salkhit - Erdenet starts. This line was built at 1975 with the Soviet assistance to the copper producing city of Erdenet.
