Sainte-Marie-Outre-l'Eau is a French Hamlet or Commune in the Calvados département in Basse-Normandie region. Its postal code is 14350. The INSEE code is 14618. The name roughly translates to Saint Mary In Addition To Water

The village is still small today, and in the early 20th century and before it would have been simply a cluster of farms, until recently there was no road connecting the village to Pont-Farcy so it would have been quite isolated.

The village is located approxamatly 1 Kilometre from Pont-Farcy along the D307 Road. The village is a collection of farm houses and a church, the overall population is just 81. However this probably accounts for neighbouring farms as well. Other nearby settlements include Pont-Bellanger and Beaumesnil. The nearest large town's are Villedieu-les-Poeles and Vire. The village is located close to the Calvados tourist attraction 'Grotte de Bion'
