Ruairi Robinson is an Academy Award-nominated Irish film director and writer. He is known mainly for his science-fiction short films and animations, one of which was nominated for an Academy Award. The Silent City, his most recent short film, concerns a group of soldiers wandering through a perilous post-apocalyptic wasteland; the cast includes actor Cillian Murphy.
He is currently slated as director of the up and coming live-action film of the Katsuhiro Otomo manga series Akira.
