[edit] 3rd Symphony Recordings
The first paragraph says the third symphony has been little recorded or performed since its peak popularity in the 1940s and 1950s. With at least 6 separate performances currently available on CDs, surely this mild slap should be deleted.

- I completely agree. The Third is by far the most famous thing Harris wrote and is still easily available. Here [1] are notes for a recent performance by the Cleveland orchestra. Antandrus (talk) 17:49, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Harris optimistic?
Although the music of Harris and Copland shares stylistic traits that we identify as American, I find Harris's style to be distinctly darker and starker in mood. Wikipedia's article on Edward Hopper insightfully contrasts him with Norman Rockwell. The same kind of contrast applies to Harris and Copland respectively. Harris record albums could well be adorned with Hopper paintings.
