Talk:Rover PG1 transmission
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Some PG1 are fitted with a Torsen differential (e.g.: Rover 220 XW Coupe Turbo aka TomCat). It's notorious for breaking down due to a overpowered engine eventhough Rover limited the power output to 147kw/236 Nm. Looking at the dynocharts you'll see that there is no peak of torque but a constant line of ~236nm. Estimated power with ECU hack and no boost increase is about 220-230 bhp. Known problems: 5th&reverse gear, 3rd and 5th gear are hard to shift when bodyroll is above usual (e.g. tight corners).
