The Rover PG1 transmission was used in the PG1 gearbox in the 1980 to 2005. The transmission was supplied by Powertrain Ltd, which was part of the MG Rover group.
The Rover PG1 transmission is used in many Rover and MGs including the Rover 200, 400, 600, 25, 45, 75 and MG ZR, ZS, ZT, F and TF. It had its roots in a Honda unit from the 1980s and 1990s.
Powertrain were designing a new engine, gearbox and transmission called the G-series but before it was ready for production Powertrain, Rover and MG went bankrupt.
