[edit] You need to subst spam and vandal templates

You should double check with someone like User:Gwernol, but as I understand it, vandal and spam warning templates are supposed to be applied with the subst keyword. So when you added a warning to User talk:66.230.200.227, you should have used {{subst:anon vandal}} rather than what you entered. This causes the actual text of the template output to appear in the page. This is supposed to reduce the load on the servers. Will (Talk - contribs) 19:38, 27 October 2006 (UTC)

I'm in the process of researching this article for rewrite, but I would appreciate some clarification about copyvio. another editor posted the copyright permission template on the talk page[1]; are you saying that that permission is not valid, or just not relevant? [edit] The Enigma of What is MyKungFu

This story was really meant for MrDarcy, Ccson, Robotam, Real96/Bearly541 (the edit's to the links and Real's edits to bearly's talk page gave it away) since they were always wondering as to what drove MyKungFu. Initially it was to spread the message of some of the ills that went on with some greek organizations. It later became some of the ills (that had factual basis) of other groups. After a while it was simply the joy of the debate (sentence by sentence as it seemed). Even if you don't know who I am, you are like a family. We've been debating for over a year. The cat and mouse, it honestly has been fun. Some of the article that were initially created were in good faith or eventually became good faith, Gamma Phi, Charles C. Poindexter, Walter M. Kimbrough, Holcombe Rucker, Sigma Pi Phi, and Alpha Kappa Nu. I learned strong references and loved to debate them. I know that many organizations like to be seen in a good light especially when they have their members editing it. That though shouldn't stop Wikipedia as being a source of the whole truth. Which is what I feel was being stopped from being shown. E.g. the hazing incidents of many greek organizations. The ban was a ban; and I asked for the account to be unblocked after a few months. It never happened. Oh well... Many of my screen names were caught, but in the chase there were a number of screen names that you mistakenly thought was MyKungFu. I can tell you that Vkmayes and Mukokeri weren't mine. I really laughed when I saw Real96 labeled a sock; MrDarcy than did a checkuser on her and when it was found false wouldn't apologize. Also how JeffGent was almost labeled a sock by Ccson on Robotam's page. It's funny how so many IP's were labeled socks when they weren't socks at all. Anyway, I am writing because I am currently going thru a family crises. My brother was seriously injured in Iraq by a rocket attack. I found out today on my way back home. I won't be on Wikipedia for a long time. In all it's been a lot of fun. All the best...

I have updated the photo information. I was the one who created the graphic in the 1990's. The photos were used on a number of web-sites after I created since fraternity web-sites generally borrow or take graphics from each other. My decision to undo your edits in reference to the Exhibition drill article is due to the fact that the image which is displayed is already on the United States Marine Corps Silent Drill Platoon article and does not display any "spectacular" spins or tosses. I was searching for possible replacements that would highlight this fact versus showing a very staged and small image of the Silent Drill Platoon infront of the Commadants quarters. -Signaleer 04:10, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

not a problem, but i think the article might benefit from showing more than rifle spins or tosses, thus the insertion of the "fan" formation pic. doesn't really matter if a pic is used in more than one article.-Robotam 14:40, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

How would it "benefit"? The image which you are proposing to use of the Silent Drill Platoon does not focus specificially on the members of the unit but also the Commadants quarters which I think detracts from the subject matter which is the exhibition drill. -Signaleer 14:46, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

The pic appropriately shows different setting of exhibiton drill, whether it be competition, Twighlight Tattoo, Evening Parade, Battle Colors Ceremony, or The Old Guard performing their soloists routine during the Army's 231st Birthday celebration.-Robotam 14:56, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

I guess when you read this you'll be break from from your wikibreak. I am working on getting the List of Alpha Phi Alpha brothers to become a Feature Article List. I have created the format and now trying to update each member with the chapter they pledge into and also provide a source that confirms they are an Alpha, and also a source that confirms the item(s) why the person is notable. I would appreciate any assistance you can provide. Some of the current references may be useful, since I haven't gotten to all the catgories. BTW-the sources don't need to be online, it can anything even a local banquet programs which contains person;s name as a member. Hi there, I've started a vote on the merger of the above at [[6]] directly beneath your recent comments. Could you vote, following the format that I've used under your own heading. As you probably know, anyone can express a view on this - one of the great things about Wikipedia. This needs to be sorted quickly as new editors keep adding re-directs, trying to seperate the article, moving the name and so on causing real confusion. I believe there should only be: hip hop music, and hip hop culture. Otherwise new eds will go to hip hop and assume it's solely about music and start changing it without realising there's a separate article. Thanks. Regards. Escaper2007 16:50, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

Robotam: Why do you think you are the arbitrator of the hip hop pages? Why would you revert a page back a great length of time, wasting all the edits and effort many people have put into it, not to mention all the votes cast in an election you enacted? Nowhere in that discussion do I see anyone else agreeing with you suggestion about switching all that information around. Why do you insist on complication? Why do you assume you know more about hip hop than anyone? I do not seek answers to these questions, so don't waste your time writing me some long and preachy harangue about being nice on wikipedia, because I won't read it. Ross provided a link of Beta Lines but I still couldn't Jone's name and I don't believe he was listed in your link of notable beta member. Bro. Ross again. I decided to go to Amazon and search inside Amiri Baraka's autobio and see what I could find. As it turns out, he does talk about being a Sphinxman, but ultimately not being initiated into Alpha. His perspective on pledging is both humorous, a lot sad and pretty modern, by the way, considering the experience he details at Howard.

Hi--I didn't delete the article (which I don't have authority to do), but I did tag it. the explanation below was left on your talk page:
A tag has been placed on Brandon Mau's Halloween, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because it is an article about a certain website, blog, forum, or other web content that does not assert the importance or significance of that web location. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles, as well as notability guidelines for websites. Please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content.

The way it works is that if an article appears to fail certain criteria for inclusion in Wikipedia, it may be tagged for review by a Wikipedia Administrator, who then either decides to keep or delete the article. In this case, the article was deleted as non-notable. Nothing personal, and not a mark against you as the article's creator, since we try to assume good faith when dealing with the edits of others on Wiki.
