Back in the late eighties and early nineties it was a fairly widespread rumour that Lawrence was actually shot by one of his own platoon due to his dangerously gung ho attitude. This may have been malicious gossip possibly spread by establishment sources to discredit Lawrence.

Please provide a source or remove this. This is Not the purpose of talk pages and may wellcontravene WP:BLP Kernel Saunters (talk) 14:51, 17 November 2007 (UTC)
Apologies for not signing above, for some reason it was posted without completing. Anyhow, I was hoping to provoke a discussion as to whether this was part of a whispering campaign to discredit Lawrence as mentioned in a number of the articles/interviews linked in the entry. Much of his treatment described in his book can also be compared with the treatment of injured British veterans today.--Epocalypse2 (talk) 19:58, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
