Roar Strand (born February 2, 1970 in Trondheim) is a Norwegian football player, playing as a midfielder at the Norwegian club Rosenborg. Strand has 42 caps for the Norwegian national team, and is the most merited player in Europe with 14 league championships and five cup titles.

He made his debut for Rosenborg in 1989. He was not an immediate success, and was loaned out to Molde in 1993. He was a success that year, and went on to become one of the best midfielders in Norway.

Strand returned to Rosenborg in 1994, and made his debut in the national team the same year. He was in the squad for the 1994 World Cup in the U.S., but he did not play. Strand played in the 1998 World Cup in France and in the 2000 European Football Championship in Belgium and the Netherlands.

Strand has won the Norwegian Premier League (Tippeligaen) 14 times (eleven consecutive), as well as the Norwegian football cup five times with Rosenborg. He has played in the UEFA Champions League eleven times, and has participated in exactly 100 Champions League matches (including qualification matches) for Rosenborg. He also holds the record for most appearances in the Norwegian Premier Division.

He is looked upon as a hero among supporters of Rosenborg because he has always been loyal to the club, and has not played abroad where the salaries are higher.
